Hi, I’m Josephine, an Accredited Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP).

Here at Family Law Resolution Centre, we are experts at Family Dispute Resolution.

Choosing the right family mediator is important. Not all mediators are Accredited FDRPs. My role is to help separating families reach an agreement on their parenting and/or property matters.

As a family mediator, I prioritize the 4R’s method (see our values page for more information), which focuses on:

  1. Relationships
  2. Respect
  3. Resolution
  4. Results

The family mediation process is simple. All you need to do is call and we can discuss your options.

Each family is different and that is why the mediation process can be tailored to suit you and your family’s situation. For the mediation, you and your former partner can be in separate places, which can be done via Zoom or phone or in different rooms. If you are comfortable to be in the same room, then that is ok too. In my process, I want you to feel safe and comfortable about the process you choose.

Steps Before Mediation

Sharing
At the sharing stage, you and your former partner will each meet with me (this is done separately and before mediation) so you can share with me what is happening for you and what you want to achieve out of family mediation. If one person contacts me first, I will meet with them (this is called an intake session). After this session, I will invite your former partner to an intake session.

Obtaining
At the obtaining stage you will obtain and provide to me all relevant documents you need to have ready for your family mediation. You will also obtain any legal advice you might need to make decisions in your family mediation.

Steps During Mediation

Exploring
At the exploring stage, I will assist you and your former partner (and your respective lawyers – if either of you have lawyers attending) to explore your current situation and what is currently happening. We will likely explore many options and consider how each of the options will work for you and your family.

Resolving
At the resolving stage, we work together to refine your options for resolution. At this stage you and your former partner will be guided to work out the best resolution for your family.

Formalising
At the formalising stage, we encourage you to formalise your agreement. If required, we are also able to issue you with a 60I Certificate (this is a document you need before you can make a parenting application in Court).
